Welcome to ForestWatchers' new application. It is easy to contribute!
On the satellite image on the left, examine carefuly the pixels inside the red square. Do they correspond to a Forest or a Non-Forest area?
Now compare with the automatic classification result inside the blue box on the image on the right. Do you agree with the classification results? Remember, green is for Forest and red for Non-Forest.
Click on the appropriate choice below the right image to confirm or to correct the classification result.
Submit your result!
Thanks for contributing!
You'll automatically receive a new similar task to perform until you complete the number of tasks assigned to each volunteer.
Once all tasks have been completed by all volunteers, a new deforestation map will be available on line.
Tip #1:
Don't forget to sign in (on the top right corner) so we can credit you for your contribution.
Tip #2:
You might want to facilitate your task by zooming in or out or by adjusting the contrast and brightness settings.
Tip #3:
By zooming in or out you will better see some colour differences. An area with a dark green represents forest areas. A light green or blue or brown will be non-forest.
Tip #4:
Your progress is updated constantly. Check out the progress bar above the maps. Remember, you can stop and came back anytime to continuously help us, until you finish all tasks (in this case the progress bar will be full).
